Are you the author?
A README is the first (and often only) thing a developer reads before deciding whether to install your package. Without one, most will move on to an alternative that shows them how to get started in seconds.
A good README earns you installs. Take a few minutes to cover:
- What it does - one or two sentences a newcomer can grasp instantly.
- Installation - what the developer neesds to do to start using your package.
- Usage - a short, copy-pasteable example that actually runs.
- API - the key functions or types, and what they return.
